A water dispenser, also referred to as a water cooler (if it is only used for cooling), is a machine that cools or heats water and dispenses it via a cooling unit.
The functions go beyond cooling and also include heating, filtering, and even carbonating the water source.
Water dispensers come in various designs, from wall-mounted units to bottle filling stations, two-tiered devices, and other formats.
Water dispensers are generally divided into two categories:
- POU (Point-of-Use) water dispensers: These models are connected directly to a water source.
- Bottle water dispensers: These require large bottles, which are either delivered or used by you.
Water temperatures can be the following:
- 💦 Cold (default setting 5 °C)
- đź’¦ Room temperature
- 💦 Hot (default setting 87 °C; additional options 75 °C, 87 °C, 93 °C)
- 💦 Extra hot (default setting 95 °C; additional options 80 °C, 87 °C, 95 °C-plus)
Water dispenser model options:
Top-loading water dispenser
The water supply reservoir is located at the top of the unit and feeds directly into the lower water tank. These units are ideal for offices and households where the water line is too far away. You can also place them anywhere you need clean drinking water.
Bottom-loading water dispenser
In bottom-loading water dispensers, the reservoir is mounted at the bottom, which makes refilling the unit much easier.
Freestanding water dispenser
In freestanding units, the water bottle is inserted directly into the unit, which is ideal for larger setups.
